leonardo company is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their Radar and Advanced Targeting team's Commercial Team in Edinburgh. The role involves providing contract management guidance, preparing commercial bids, and ensuring a high degree of customer relations while working within the company's established processes. We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Radar and Advanced Targeting (RATS) Commercial Team based in Edinburgh.
What you'll do as a Contracts Manager
Provide commercial and contract management guidance to designated Integrated Project Teams (IPTs);
Act as the Customer’s key point of contact on contractual matters;
Preparation and submission of commercial bids/proposals, providing strategic and commercially sound guidance on some of the most visible and challenging contracts and opportunities within the Business;
Apply a high degree of understanding of Leonardo’s Life Cycle Management and other business processes with an ability to apply them independently to meet business objectives;
Manage commercial bid approvals in line with governance process and delegated authorities;
Drafting clear and concise key correspondence;
Produce accurate and compliant pricing in support of proposals;
Prepare, draft and negotiate Customer terms and conditions of contract and other non-standard agreements, seeking support from the legal department and IPT where appropriate;
Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with Colleagues, Customers and Partners to deliver the value to the company;
Work closely with colleagues in Procurement to ensure flow-down of key Customer terms and conditions; and
Mentor and provide support to direct reports as applicable and less experienced team members.
What we need from you
Advanced knowledge and experience in commercial matters, knowledge of contract law, combined with excellent drafting and negotiation skills;
Demonstrated collaboration, communication, planning, problem solving, influencing, decision making and continuous improvement skills;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build a high level of customer intimacy in both internal and external customers and partners;
Technical training to degree standard, professional qualification and/or significant domain experience;
A high degree of understanding of business governance, life cycle management and business processes with the ability to apply them independently to meet business objectives;
Ability to provide advice, guidance to customers and people management with the development of other competencies for the requirements of the function;
Ability to engage and influence cross-functional/cross site teams;
Eligible for full UK security clearance;
It would be desirable if you have experience of:
Aerospace and Defence contracting;
SAP, or an equivalent enterprise resource planning system; and
Import and Export Control, including UK, Export and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (commonly known as ITAR).
