Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join a well-established client in Birmingham. The role requires leading the delivery of multiple projects nationwide, managing project teams and driving profitability while ensuring safety and programme adherence.

The ideal candidate has a track record in civil engineering or major construction projects, strong contract administration skills and the ability to build long-term stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering civil engineering, infrastructure, industrial, warehouse or major construction projects.
• Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets and profitability.
• Proven leadership and multi-project management capability.
• Solid understanding of contract administration and project controls.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join one of our well-established clients in Birmingham.

Our client is a leading UK construction and civil engineering contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure, commercial, residential and transportation projects across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the successful delivery of multiple projects across a national portfolio.
• Manage Project Managers, Site Managers and project delivery teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
• Drive commercial performance and maximise project profitability.
• Oversee resource planning, programming and operational delivery.
• Monitor project performance, KPIs and contractual obligations.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Support tender, bid and pre-construction activities where required.
• Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Provide strategic leadership and mentoring to project teams.
• Produce regular operational and commercial reports for senior management.

Skills & Requirements:

• Proven experience operating as a Contracts Manager, Senior Contracts Manager, Operations Manager, Project Director or Senior Project Manager.
• Strong track record managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience delivering civil engineering, infrastructure, industrial, warehouse, commercial or major construction projects.
• Excellent commercial awareness with responsibility for project budgets and profitability.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of contract administration and project controls.
• Ability to build and maintain long-term stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication, organisational and management skills.
• Willingness to travel across the UK as business needs require.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• SMSTS.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
