Job summary

Carmichael UK is recruiting a Contracts Engineer to join a specialist piling contractor on a major infrastructure project near King's Cross Station in London. You will manage QA/ITP compliance and coordinate piling activities with the Project Manager and site team.

The role requires hands-on experience with piling/geotechnical works, a CSCS card, and the ability to produce accurate records and logs throughout the 12-week duration. The project runs on a daily rate.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on piling or geotechnical projects.
• Experience with secant piled walls, rotary bored or CFA piling is advantageous.
• Strong QA processes, ITPs and inspection requirements.
• Ability to maintain site records and pile logs.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality assurance and quality control activities for allocated piling operations.
• Review, implement and maintain compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Inspect reinforcement cages upon delivery and verify compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate piling sequences and daily work activities with the Project Manager and site team.
• Complete pile records and pile logs accurately and within required timescales.
• Maintain and update concrete cube registers and associated quality documentation.
• Raise, manage and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs) where required.
• Ensure all records, inspections and quality documentation are completed to project standards.
• Support safe delivery of works in accordance with company and client procedures.

Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Contract Engineer to join a specialist piling contractor on a major infrastructure project near King's Cross Station. The project involves the construction of a secant piled wall.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with piling and geotechnical experience to support the delivery of a technically challenging scheme during a critical phase of works.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality assurance and quality control activities for allocated piling operations.
• Review, implement and maintain compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

• Experience maintaining site records, pile logs and quality documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate effectively with operational teams.
• CSCS Card essential.
• First Aid and SMSTS/SSSTS beneficial but not essential
