Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking an experienced Contracts Engineer to support the delivery of piling and ground engineering projects across the UK. The role focuses on planning, design coordination and site delivery, ensuring safety, quality and on-time performance in major infrastructure schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction contracts delivery across civil/ground engineering.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• CSCS card and site access requirements.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead piling and ground engineering elements across planning, design coordination and construction phases.
• Develop and manage project plans, specifications, drawings and delivery documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, design engineers and site teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards and regulations.
• Promote HSE standards and manage risk assessments and ITPs.

The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Engineer to support the successful delivery of piling and ground engineering projects across the UK. The role will focus on planning, design coordination and project delivery, ensuring complex civil engineering works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality. You will play a key role in delivering innovative ground engineering solutions on major infrastructure and construction projects

Your duties and responsibilities

• Lead and manage piling and ground engineering elements across planning, design coordination and construction phases.
• Develop, review and manage project plans, specifications, construction drawings and delivery documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, site teams and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards and regulations.
• Ensure engineering and construction activities align with industry standards and best practice.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks throughout the lifecycle.
• Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to optimise resource planning and project performance.
• Ensure works comply with contractual obligations, design requirements and project management plans.
• Prepare and manage statements, risk assessments, ITPs, Work Package Plans and associated documentation.
• Support project planning and scheduling, monitor progress and recommend corrective actions where required.
• Promote strong Health, Safety and Environmental standards across all activities.
• Maintain accurate project records, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals and handover information.

Qualifications & experience

• Experience within the construction industry, ideally in civil engineering, piling or ground engineering.
• Experience supporting the delivery of civil engineering contracts across a variety of project types.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead, coordinate and influence multidisciplinary teams.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of cost control.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• Valid CSCS card.

Additional desirable experience

• Experience working for a piling, ground engineering or civil engineering subcontractor.
• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
