Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in recruitment operations, contractor onboarding, compliance, payroll or recruitment administration would be advantageous.

• Own timesheets, approvals, POs and finance administration, ensuring processes are efficient and accurate.

Job description

We’re looking for a Contractor Operations Consultant to join our growing interim recruitment team and take ownership of everything that happens after a contractor accepts an offer.

You’ll manage the contractor journey from offer through to assignment completion, covering onboarding, contracts, compliance, timesheets, finance administration and contractor care.

But this role is about more than keeping things running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who will challenge the status quo, think outside the box and continually look for ways to improve, develop and build on our existing processes.

You’ll also build strong relationships with our contractor network, keeping close to what they’re working on and spotting extensions, redeployment opportunities, upcoming projects and potential hiring needs to feed back to our recruitment team.

The role

• Manage contractor onboarding, contracts, compliance and pre-employment checks.
• Own timesheets, approvals, POs and finance administration, ensuring processes are efficient and accurate.
• Act as a key point of contact for contractors throughout their assignments, building strong, lasting relationships.
• Manage extensions, changes and upcoming end dates, proactively identifying opportunities to retain and redeploy contractors.
• Review existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement and take the initiative to implement practical, effective solutions.
• Think creatively about how we can work smarter, streamline workflows and make better use of the systems and tools already in place.
• Build market intelligence and spot potential commercial opportunities that support the growth of our contract and interim business.
• Keep contractor records accurate and audit-ready.
• Work closely with recruitment and finance to improve collaboration, strengthen processes and keep everything running smoothly.

About you

You’re highly organised, proactive and commercially curious, with a natural eye for detail and an instinct for spotting where things could work better. You don’t simply follow processes because that’s how they’ve always been done; you look for opportunities to make improvements, solve problems and build on what’s already in place.

You’re confident dealing with contractors, clients and internal teams, comfortable chasing when needed, and take pride in seeing things through from start to finish. You enjoy taking ownership, using your initiative and finding practical ways to make a positive difference.

Experience in recruitment operations, contractor onboarding, compliance, payroll or recruitment administration would be advantageous, particularly experience with umbrella companies, timesheets or contractor payroll.
