Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Temporary Works Designer to deliver high-quality, buildable temporary works designs for major projects in Derby (DE21). The role involves coordinating CAD workloads, performing complex structural and geotechnical calculations, and ensuring timely, budget-compliant design delivery.

Ideal candidates will hold an engineering degree, a CSCS card, and strong numerical and software skills (Excel, Autodesk, Bentley).

Qualifications

Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
CSCS card and up-to-date CPD records.
Strong numerical capability with data assimilation.
Proficiency in Excel and analytical software (Autodesk, Bentley).
Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

Reviewing temporary works design briefs and managing the allocation of work, including managing the workload for CAD Engineers, Technicians, or Operators.
Undertaking both repetitive and complex structural engineering and geotechnical calculations.
Verifying and delivering temporary works designs to time and budget constraints.
Providing expert technical support and contributing to methodology workshops, buildability sessions, and VE workshops to identify innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Ensuring design risks are fully considered, preparing Design Risk Assessments, and exercising designers' obligations under the CDM Regulations.
