Job summary

DataCareers is hiring a Temporary Works Design Engineer to support fast-paced projects across the UK, specialising in abnormal load transportation and installation solutions.

The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, 3+ years’ experience in temporary works, Chartered or working towards, and proficiency in Tekla, STAAD Pro and AutoCAD; BS 5975 knowledge preferred.

You'll work both on site and in design offices, producing drawings and assisting with pricing and estimates.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3+ years experience, ideally with site and design office exposure in Temporary Works Design.
• Incorporated/Chartered or working towards professional qualification.
• Proficient in structural analysis and CAD software (Tekla, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD).
• Working knowledge of BS 5975; experience with steelwork and timber construction.

Responsibilities

• Review and check temporary structure designs, calculations, drawings, and design certificates.
• Conduct structural analysis of existing equipment to ensure compliance with safety and design standards.
• Design modifications to existing equipment and develop new designs as required.
• Produce detailed drawings suitable for manufacturing.
• Assist with estimating by obtaining or providing pricing information.
