Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an innovative Temporary Works Design Engineer to deliver high-quality, buildable temporary works designs for Major Projects. You will act as a technical expert, managing workload for CAD Engineers and delivering designs within time and budget constraints.

The role requires a degree in an engineering discipline, strong numerical ability, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. You will collaborate across teams, contribute to risk assessments, and participate in design

Qualifications

A degree in an engineering discipline with extensive experience and thorough knowledge of engineering principles.
Strong numerical capability and the ability to assimilate data; proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Excellent communication, report writing, interpersonal, and influencing skills to work with all levels.

Responsibilities

Review temporary works design briefs and allocate work among CAD Engineers, Technicians, or Operators.
Perform repetitive and complex structural engineering and geotechnical calculations.
Verify and deliver temporary works designs to time and budget constraints.
Provide expert technical support and contribute to methodology workshops, buildability sessions, and VE workshops to identify innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Ensure design risks are fully considered, prepare Design Risk Assessments, and assist with design assurance through audits.
