As a Contract Support Officer, you will be the access control point for the building, meeting and greeting visitors, contractors, and staff. You will be vigilant and the first point of contact for any suspicious activity. Your duties will include carrying out ID checks, responding to emergencies, and providing information to all staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will need customer service experience and excellent personal presentation, as these sites can be very busy dealing with members of the public. The role involves outside working, patrolling, and Front of House duties as required. The candidate must be flexible to cover sickness, holidays, and events, including last-minute cover when contacted. Full flexibility is essential.

Role: Contract Support Officer
Pay Rate: £12.70 per hour
Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, and Weekends (full flexibility required)
Location: Manchester and surrounding areas
Role Requirements: Door Supervisor SIA licence and UK Driving licence (must be able to drive between sites)

Main Duties:

• Providing security measures to safeguard property and people
• Covering reception duties as needed (Front of House experience preferred)
• Preventing unauthorized entry using force or illegal instruments, protecting against loss or damage
• Ensuring security of patrol locations against damage from fire, water, theft, or vandalism
• Detecting those responsible for losses or damage
• Verifying the identity of persons entering the premises
• Following client instructions promptly and effectively
• Providing emergency response within the premises
• Offering assistance to staff and visitors
• Protecting premises, property, and personnel from theft, damage, and violence
• Patrolling to prevent fire, flood, theft, and damage
• Searching premises and people as instructed
• Providing access to authorized personnel
• Checking and validating passes for staff, visitors, and contractors
• Issuing and logging keys securely
• Monitoring and responding to security systems, including CCTV and alarms
• Maintaining incident logs and producing reports
• Assisting visitors and managing access points
• Locking/unlocking offices as necessary
• Checking firefighting equipment
• Overseeing security equipment performance
• Operating security and safety procedures and responding to emergencies

Must Haves:

• Valid SIA licence
• UK Driving licence
• Minimum 1 year of proven security experience
• Front of House/Reception experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• High personal presentation standards
• IT literacy and ability to operate security systems
• Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude towards people and challenges
