Job summary

FCC Environment is seeking a Contract Supervisor to oversee the Suffolk Recycling Centre Contract across multiple sites. You will ensure sites operate safely, efficiently and to contract standards while maintaining high customer service and promoting reuse and recycling.

This full-time role requires managing site staff, monitoring performance, and coordinating with clients and internal teams, with weekend rota coverage and a focus on cost-efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste industry or similar sector.
• Experience in a customer-focused service delivery organisation.
• Experience of managing remote teams.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong administration and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day delivery of the Recycling Centre Contract and ensuring contractual requirements are met.
• Monitoring and reporting on service standards across the sites and taking action to address any issues with service delivery.
• Ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the sites.
• Managing and developing site staff, including Recycling Team Leaders, Recycling Operatives and relief/temporary staff.
• Ensuring employees are appropriately trained and competent to carry out their roles safely.
• Working with site teams to maximise reuse and recycling rates and identify opportunities for further improvement.
• Ensuring sites are well presented, maintained and deliver high standards of customer service.
• Coordinating the collection and recording of data and ensuring appropriate reports are produced in a timely manner.
• Building effective relationships with the client, contract partners and internal colleagues.
• Providing weekend cover on a rota basis and supporting operations during weekends and bank holidays where required.
• Operating within the agreed cost budget and identifying opportunities to make efficiency savings.

Location & Postcode – Multiple sites in Suffolk

As a Contract Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Suffolk Recycling Centre Contract, supporting the development of the sites and the teams working across them. You will ensure sites operate safely, efficiently and effectively, while maintaining high standards of customer service and maximising reuse and recycling.

This vacancy is for a full-time position.

What are we looking for?

• Experience of working within the waste industry or a similar sector
• Experience within a customer-focused service delivery organisation
• Experience of managing remote teams
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• A flexible approach to meet the needs of the Contract
• A strong commitment to promoting a positive health and safety culture
• Willingness to work weekends on a rota basis
• A full, valid UK driving licence
