City Gate Construction Ltd is seeking a proactive Contracts Supervisor to oversee day-to-day maintenance works across South Ayr, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget adherence. You will work with in-house operatives, subcontractors and management to maintain high standards.

The role requires proven supervision of planned and reactive maintenance, leadership of site teams, and strong organisational, communication and HSE knowledge.

About Us

City Gate Construction is establishing itself as an industry leader. Founded in 2003, we are a privately owned Construction, Refurbishment and Maintenance main contractor with offices across Scotland and England.

The Role

We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Contracts Supervisor to join our team. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of various planned and reactive maintenance works across South Ayr.

You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, working closely with in-house operatives, subcontractors, and management to maintain consistently high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Contract Supervision

• Supervise the delivery of planned maintenance and reactive maintenance works.
• Ensure jobs are completed on time and within agreed budgets.
• Maintain accurate records of all projects.

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and supervise site teams, promoting high standards of workmanship, productivity, and professionalism.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring performance aligns with company expectations.
• Provide clear instructions and support to operatives to ensure efficient project delivery.

Health & Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all works are carried out in full compliance with health and safety legislation and CGC procedures.
• Monitor site standards and address any non-compliance promptly.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all teams and subcontractors.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience supervising planned and reactive maintenance works.
• Experience leading teams and managing subcontractors.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident working with a range of stakeholders.
• Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
• SSSTS or SMSTS
• Full Drivers Licence
