Job summary

Humand Talent is seeking a Contract Software Engineer in Oxfordshire to own and advance an established Windows/.NET project. The role covers Windows development, software, firmware, and embedded systems, with hands-on ownership and autonomy.

You will work with .NET, C++, Python, and some C#, contributing to regulated reporting and data integrity while staying focused on delivery within an existing code base.

Qualifications

• Solid background developing Windows applications using .NET.
• Experience with C++ and/or Python is useful.
• VB.NET experience is welcome but not essential.
• Experience in regulated/compliance-focused environments is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and own development tasks.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a clearly defined software project and drive it forward to the next delivery stage.
• Build and extend functionality within a Windows/.NET application.
• Work with a tech stack including .NET, C++, Python and some C# across an embedded/hardware context.
• Collaborate with engineers and use GitLab/Jira for delivery and traceability.
