Job summary

SoCode Limited in Cambridge is seeking a Contract Production Electronics Engineer to lead engineering change and tester procedures for new and legacy products. You will own failure analysis and reliability work, and support production-line teams deploying testers on manufacturing sites abroad.

This is an office-based contract in Cambridge with 4 days on site. The role requires hands-on hardware experience, deep electronics knowledge across analogue, digital and RF, and PCB/PCBA design with

Qualifications

• Several years in a similar production-support or manufacturing engineering role.
• Solid understanding of production-line testers design and maintenance.
• Strong grounding in analogue, digital and radio electronics.
• Knowledge of PCB/PCBA design and assembly, batteries, RF, IR, and ATE-based testing.
• Confident communicator in English, written and verbal, reporting to management.
• Experience in a matrixed, global organisation.
• Hands-on hardware with embedded interfaces, networking and debugging.

We're working with a business scaling an advanced connected hardware product into production. They need a Production Engineer to lead engineering change and tester procedures for new and legacy products, own failure analysis and reliability work, and support production-line teams as they deploy testers on manufacturing sites abroad.

What You'll Bring

• Several years in a similar production-support or manufacturing engineering role
• Solid understanding of how production-line testers are designed and maintained
• Strong grounding in electronic design across analogue, digital and radio
• Working knowledge of PCB/PCBA design and assembly, batteries, RF, IR, and ATE-based testing
• Confident communicator in English, written and verbal, including reporting to management
• Used to working in a matrixed, cross-cultural, global organisation
• Genuinely hands-on with hardware, embedded interfaces, networking and debugging

Also Valued

• Familiarity with SQA processes and LabVIEW
• Background with RF or other connected/smart product technology
• Some exposure to manufacturing databases or production data pipelines
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and manufacturing partners on tester or prototype parts
