Job summary

ES Recruit is seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer in the Rossendale area for an FMCG machinery manufacturing business, outside IR35, to support increased projects.

You’ll leverage SolidWorks to design SP machinery, produce 3D/2D models, and manage documentation through handover to clients.

The role emphasizes project planning, stakeholder communication, and commissioning, testing, and smooth resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with SolidWorks in FMCG environments.
• Experience with Special Purpose Machinery is essential.
• Ability to manage documentation and liaise with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D/2D designs with SolidWorks and complete all supporting documentation.
• Develop detailed project plans and provide regular progress updates.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and contractors to maintain project flow.
• Oversee commissioning, testing and client handover.
