Job summary

Employment Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer for a FMCG machinery role in the Rossendale area. The position requires strong SolidWorks skills and experience with Special Purpose Machinery in an FMCG setting.

This is a contract role outside IR35 offering up to £35/hr (Ltd). The successful candidate will manage design documentation, project plans, and coordinate with stakeholders through commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks in FMCG machinery environments.
• Ability to develop and manage project plans and progress updates.
• Strong coordination and communication across internal teams, suppliers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks and ensure all supporting documentation is complete.
• Develop detailed project plans, provide regular progress updates, and ensure seamless communication with all stakeholders.
• Liaise effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to maintain smooth project flow and resource allocation.
• Oversee project completion, including commissioning, testing, and documentation handover to the client.

We are currently working with an FMCG machinery manufacturing business in the Rossendale area who are looking for a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer outside IR35 to join them due to an increase in projects.

You’ll have strong experience with Solidworks and working with Special Purpose Machinery within an FMCG setting.
