Job summary

Orion Electrotech seeks a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-12 month rolling contract. The role focuses on New Product Development, requiring proven experience in mechanical design, strong CAD skills using SolidWorks or Inventor, and a knowledgeable background in manufacturing methods. Candidates will support the complete project life-cycle and undertake detailed designs.

Contract Mechanical Design Engineer

Opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer with Inventor or SolidWorks experience to undertake a varied long–term contract.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a solid background in Inventor or SolidWorks to work on a number of key New Product Development projects, undertaking detailed conceptual design and supporting the complete project life cycle. You will also support re–engineering / existing product upgrades.

As Contract Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the ability to :

• Undertake Mechanical Design of New Product Development (complete product Life–cycle)
• Undertake detailed designs using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Inventor)
• Concept Generation
• Produce Documentation to support Development

• Knowledge of manufacturing methods

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have;

• Proven mechanical design experience within a fast–paced development environment (Ideally 4–5 years min)

• Experience working on instrumentation or similar complex electro–mechanical products

• 3D CAD – SolidWorks or Inventor
• Full Product Life–cycle Design Experience.
