We are seeking an Aero Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team at the new Silverstone facility. In this role, you’ll work as part of a highly skilled design group developing our 60% wind tunnel model and testing infrastructure. You will design and develop mechanical and electromechanical systems to support aerodynamic testing and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design high-quality mechanical components for the wind tunnel model.
• Contribute to all phases of design for mechanical systems related to the wind tunnel model, test facilities, and aerodynamic instrumentation.
• Analyse and optimise designs to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Deliver mechanical design solutions in line with project scope.
• Propose and implement improvements to design methodologies, processes, and procedures.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and materials for mechanical system development.
• Support occasional travel requirements related to the role.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical/Motorsport Engineering with a strong focus on mechanical systems and design.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within the motorsport industry or other high-performance engineering environments.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, with a strong preference for experience using 3DExperience/CATIA.
• Deep understanding of core mechanical engineering principles, including structural integrity, kinematics and system integration.
• Hands-on experience with structural validation techniques such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support robust and reliable design.
• Strong knowledge of materials and modern manufacturing methods, including composite materials, subtractive and additive manufacturing, and rapid prototyping.
• Solid grasp of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application in high-precision assemblies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision, even under tight deadlines and fast-paced development cycles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation & reporting
