Job description

Job Opportunity: Contract Manager

Join a leading national construction contractor based in Orpington, managing multiple projects within the M25.

The Role

You will collaborate with the Contract Manager to oversee P&L, budgets, and deadlines. Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of service and quality, cost control, creating CPP & programming of works, budgeting, and implementing strong H&S practices across all projects. Your team will comprise site management, supervisors, RLOs, and subcontractors. You will report directly to the Divisional Director, supporting the success of the contract.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess extensive building knowledge and experience managing retrofit projects and contracts. Experience with retrofit projects is a plus. You should have experience managing multiple site teams, strategic project planning, problem-solving skills, and a good understanding of current legislations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to foster a collaborative working environment are essential. Building strong relationships with clients and team members is also important.

Requirements

• Experience in retrofit, EWI/IWI/CWI, ASHPs, Solar Panels, Loft Insulation, Roofing, Heat Pumps, Ground Pumps
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Building or refurbishment qualification and relevant Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS)
• Level 3 Leadership & Management Qualification or equivalent, or willingness to obtain
• Experience working within the social housing sector
• Knowledge of schedules of rate and NHF Schedule of Rates
• Experience managing teams of operatives
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry
• Technically minded
