Branta Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced FM Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of hard FM maintenance contracts. The role bridges hands-on technical understanding with contract management, leading mobile engineering teams and driving SLA/KPI performance for established clients in the North East.

You will manage commercial aspects, ensure statutory compliance across HVAC, gas, and water hygiene, and foster strong client relationships through regular reviews and technical guidance

Formación

• Must-have track record as an FM Contracts Manager or similar.
• Strong understanding of service contracts, cost tracking and invoicing.
• Knowledge of ACoP L8, Gas Safety regs and pressure systems.

Responsabilidades

• Provide operational leadership for mobile and site-based engineers across the region.
• Oversee portfolio P&L, WIP, debt, procurement and variation pricing.
• Maintain statutory compliance for HVAC, gas, water hygiene and BMS assets.
• Act as primary client contact, run monthly KPI reviews and lifecycle guidance.

Branta is partnering with an established, expanding Facilities Management provider to appoint an experienced FM Contracts Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background to oversee key commercial accounts.

Reporting to the Regional Manager you will hold operational and commercial accountability for a portfolio of hard FM maintenance contracts. The role bridges hands-on technical understanding with robust contract management—leading mobile engineering teams, driving SLA/KPI performance, and maintaining profitable client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Lead, mentor, and deploy a team of mobile and site-based mechanical, electrical, and HVAC engineers across the region, fostering high standards of workmanship and safety.
• Commercial & P&L Oversight: Manage portfolio P&L budgets, control WIP and debt, oversee material/subcontractor procurement, and identify project variations and quoted extra works to drive margin growth.
• Technical & Statutory Compliance: Maintain statutory compliance across all mechanical plant (HVAC, commercial heating, gas, water hygiene/L8, BMS, and pressure systems), ensuring audit-ready asset records.
• Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary operational contact for key estate stakeholders; conduct monthly review meetings, present KPI performance packs, and provide technical guidance on lifecycle plant replacements.

Candidate Profile

• Technical Background: Time-served trade apprenticeship or formal qualifications (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Commercial Gas, or HVAC.
• Management Experience: Proven track record as an FM Contracts Manager, Technical Account Manager, or Operations Manager within hard facilities management.
• Commercial Acumen: Solid understanding of service contracts, cost tracking, and extra-works quoting.
• Compliance Knowledge: Comprehensive grasp of building services statutory requirements, ACoP L8, Gas Safety regulations, and pressure systems.
• Safety Qualifications: IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate preferred.
• Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence.
