Job Overview

  • Take full financial and delivery responsibility for a portfolio of contracts ensuring that JCA cost effectively deliver contracted services as well as additional services, within legislative and contractual obligations.
  • Achieve contracted service levels, as well as service levels set out by JCA for contract delivery, and / or any other task completion.
  • Ensure that statutory obligations are met in full and ensure that the business is not exposed to undue risks.
  • Ensure that records, data and systems are maintained up to date and in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships and maximise opportunities for additional revenue and margin and contract retention.
  • Drive value added sales to the contract portfolio to increase contract margin and to promote wider business opportunities outside of the MS division.

Main Duties

  • Manage an assigned contract(s), ensuring that the works are delivered with the contractual obligation and cost effectively.
  • Manage contract(s) achieving a minimum gross margin as specified by the Company KPI.
  • Manage PPM (statutory and routine) and reactive works to ensure delivery in accordance with contracted service level agreements and to the agreed specification.
  • Using the available systems and processes, implement a self-auditing regime in order to validate that works are being completed in accordance with the Contract Execution Plan.
  • Generate additional works opportunities to achieve an additional contract value as set out in specific objectives.
  • Where additional work opportunities are awarded ensure that works are expedited in a timely and efficient manner, delivering the works as cost effectively as is possible.
  • Ensure that all company-wide processes and procedures are fully deployed in delivering the services associated with contracted and additional works.
  • Ensure that additional work opportunities are financially closed out in the month of work completion.
  • Maintain WIP and ensure value does not exceed the value as indicated in the Company KPI.
  • Recruit, manage, support and develop a technically competent engineering team (including technical supervision), of a size defined by the business, ensuring all duties are carried out in a safe manner (all recruitment is to be via company approved process).
  • Manage the procurement and delivery of sub contracted services across the portfolio. Engage with the procurement team to ensure that best value is achieved through the supply chain.
  • Submit supplier performance audit information to enable detailed analysis of supply chain performance.
  • Respond to client needs for technical support in order that they can maximise their assets life expectancy and reliability.
  • Ensure that the site engineering team maintain site documentation in order that records of service works are kept to the highest standards.
  • Carry out site audits as dictated by the HSQE process.
  • Maintain and report on activity with clients and their sites as dictated by the company and its systems.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with the clients, their representatives or consultants as required, ensuring that all contractual reports are delivered in a timely manner and dictated by contractual obligations.
  • Liaise with the relevant JCA departments as dictated by the business and its needs to develop and improve its delivery capability.
  • Attend training and seminars to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Providing cover for other team members.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of C&G/NVQ level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical
  • Must have previous experience of management with the building services maintenance industry or equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple or single projects
