Job summary

Gap Technical is partnering with a leading national automation business in Bristol to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their Bristol Facility. This role offers day and night shift coverage and a chance to contribute to reliability improvements across production equipment.

The ideal candidate will have multi-skilled electrical bias, apprentice training, and 18th Edition experience, with a focus on planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Handling and Automation environment is desirable.
• Role requires a multi-skilled electrically biased engineer.
• Apprentice trained with 18th Edition is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and rectify root causes of machinery faults to support both daily maintenance and long term improvements.
• Undertake planned maintenance, breakdown response, and annual overhauls to ensure high equipment availability.
• Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff on machinery and processes.
• Maintain and calibrate critical machine settings to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Collaborate with production teams to plan and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
• Offer support across teams to meet operational demands.
• Drive initiatives to reduce downtime and optimise plant performance.

Performance Objectives

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrically Biased, you will play a vital role in ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime across all production equipment. Drawing on your technical experience and problem-solving abilities, you will:

• Identify and rectify root causes of machinery faults, supporting both day-to-day maintenance and long-term improvements.
• Undertake planned maintenance, breakdown response, and annual overhauls to ensure high equipment availability and reliability.
• Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff on machinery and operational processes.

Qualifications and Experience
