Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment (South) Limited is recruiting for a Contract Build Engineer to join a Winchester client on a 6-month, fully onsite contract. The role covers deploying Windows 11 devices, imaging and provisioning hardware, and coordinating handovers to end users.

You must be local to the Southampton/Winchester area and able to attend site five days a week. The post is inside IR35 and requires readiness to work onsite to support a hardware refresh across the estate.

Qualifications

• Experience with deploying devices at scale.
• Familiarity with Intune or MDM platforms.
• Comfort imaging, building, and setting up laptops/desktops.
• Previous use of ServiceDesk tools to track tickets.
• Competent in Excel and IT admin tasks.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support the rollout of Windows 11 devices across the business.
• Unbox, image/configure, and ship laptops and desktops to end users.
• Maintain communication with users regarding delivery and handover.
• Track and manage activity using Excel logs and Service Request tickets.
• Assist with general IT support tasks as required.
• Accurately update and close tickets using the internal ServiceDesk tool.

Spectrum IT are working with a local Winchester client to recruit a Contract Build Engineer to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. The role is focused on supporting a hardware refresh project, replacing legacy Windows 10 devices with Windows 11 across the estate. Due to the nature of the role, this is a fully onsite role and has been deemed inside IR35.

Candidates for this role will be local to the Southampton, Winchester and surrounding areas and be able to attend site 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the rollout of Windows 11 devices across the business
