Job summary

Fusion People is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join a major infrastructure programme in Scotland. You will lead environmental and sustainability performance across a large-scale energy project, ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, and best practice throughout delivery.

You will work closely with operational teams, manage environmental permits and documentation, investigate incidents, and drive campaigns and plans to support business objectives.

Qualifications

• Chartered IEMA status is required.
• Experience with environmental risk mitigation on major projects.
• Knowledge of waste/water management and pollution prevention.
• Experience with environmental consents, licensing, planning, Biodiversity Net Gain.
• Solid understanding of Net Zero principles.
• Experience in carbon measurement and reduction initiatives.
• Experience in incident management and investigations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead environmental and sustainability best practice across the project.
• Ensure management controls so personnel uphold statutory duties.
• Work with site management to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
• Lead environmental incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Collect and review data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement environmental campaigns and improvement plans.
• Prepare and review environmental documentation, including third-party submissions.
• Produce environmental plans, procedures, and related documentation ensuring compliance.
• Manage environmental permits, consents, and exemptions with proper approvals.
