Job summary

Matchtech seeks an experienced Electrical Inspector on a contract basis for a role in the Defence and Security sector. You will verify that electrical products and assemblies meet quality, technical, dimensional and workmanship standards, and document non-conformances following QA procedures.

The ideal candidate has proven inspection experience, strong knowledge of PCB/Electronics manufacturing, and the ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

• Proven background in inspection activities.
• Strong understanding of PCBs, electronics, cable assemblies, and electrical manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, wiring schedules, schematics, and circuit diagrams.
• Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, with trainer-level qualifications considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical inspection activities to ensure all products meet the required quality standards before release.
• Perform both in-line and roving inspections, confirming compliance of electrical assemblies against specifications and documented requirements.
• Support investigations into quality issues by contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with production teams to help maintain high levels of workmanship and product quality.
• Participate in manufacturing and production meetings, providing quality-related input where required.
• Liaise with Quality Assurance personnel to ensure customer expectations and contractual requirements are achieved.
• Promote efficient manufacturing practices while maintaining strict quality standards.
• Inspect components, cable assemblies, electrical assemblies, and finished products throughout the production process.
• Conduct pre-closure inspections, verifying conformance to engineering specifications and workmanship criteria.
• Accurately record non-conformance reports and update inspection data within the company's MRP system.
