Job summary

ESCO Maritime Solutions in Rugeley, Staffordshire, seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer on a contract basis to design, verify and document advanced electrical schematics and control systems for equipment in harsh environments, ensuring safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical design and system specification.
• Good working knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools.
• Experience in schematic capture and reviewing electrical drawings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A flexible, solutions-oriented engineering approach.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced electrical schematics and control systems.
• Analyse, verify, and optimise electrical designs for performance and reliability.
• Generate technical requirements and specifications for electrical systems.
• Capture, document, and maintain electrical schematics to a high standard.
• Select cables and protective devices with safety, function and cost in mind.
• Provide input on component selection and system configuration.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Participate in meetings with internal and customer stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation in line with ESCO’s procedures.
