To organise and supervise the unit in accordance with standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specification, and statutory regulations. Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the unit, ensuring quality service. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and service to meet standards and specifications. Use resources efficiently, including stock, team members, and assets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic guidance and managing the team that reports to you
• Communicating, motivating, and guiding your management team and catering staff daily
• Taking overall responsibility for food and health & safety procedures in the college catering department
• Promoting the unit and acting as a Compass Advocate
• Managing internal and external stakeholders effectively
• Ensuring client hospitality meets standards and gathering feedback
• Identifying opportunities to enhance and develop services, discussing with your line manager
• Introducing innovation and flair to keep the service engaging
• Monitoring budgets and trends, taking corrective actions as needed
• Delivering customer requirements in line with expectations
