Contract Business Analyst - Legal Sector | Process Automation & DMS

The Organisation

A specialist law firm, recognised as leaders in their field, is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join on an interim basis. With several high-impact projects underway including process automation, workflow optimisation, and the implementation of a new Document Management System.

Supporting a 500+ user environment, you'll work as part of a collaborative PMO, where strong stakeholder engagement is key to driving smarter, more efficient ways of working across the firm.

The Role
This is a hands-on business analysis position focused on process re-engineering, workflow automation, and the rollout of a new Document Management System. You will work as part of a collaborative PMO team, translating complex requirements into practical solutions, and ensuring stakeholders are engaged throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and document current business processes across legal and operational teams.
• Identify areas of inefficiency and propose automation opportunities.
• Capture, refine, and prioritise business requirements for upcoming systems changes.
• Support DMS implementation with user engagement, testing, and training deliverables.
• Produce process diagrams, user stories, and functional specs to support change initiatives.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders across legal, IT, and business services.

Your Background

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst within law firms, professional services, or highly regulated environments.
• Skilled in process improvement, change delivery, and requirements gathering.
• Comfortable managing stakeholders across different departments and seniority levels.
• Familiarity with DMS systems such as iManage, and a good understanding of legal workflows.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple concurrent projects.
