Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited seeks a Registered Building Inspector Class 2 for a 3 months contract with a local authority in Enfield. You will deliver Building Control services, conduct plan assessments, and perform site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.

Candidates must have a relevant degree, be a registered Building Inspector, and hold RICS or CABE membership (Band B with Building Safety Regulator or willingness to achieve). 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in Building Control, Building Surveying, Construction or related property discipline.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying Building Regulations.
• Experience in plan assessments and/or site inspections.
• Membership in either RICS or CABE.
• Degree-level qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Building Control or related discipline.
• Registered Building Inspector status.
• Band B General Registration with the Building Safety Regulator or ability to achieve.
• Additional professional qualifications relevant to Building Control.

Responsibilities

• Assess building regulation applications and plans to ensure adherence to relevant legislation, standards, and guidance.
• Conduct site inspections across various construction projects to verify compliance with approved plans and Building Regulations.
• Identify issues of non-compliance and provide practical solutions to applicants, developers, and contractors.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of assessments and inspections.
• Support enforcement activities when breaches of Building Regulations are identified.
• Offer professional and technical advice to customers, developers, architects, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Interpret Building Regulations and associated legislation to provide consistent and accurate guidance.
• Assist applicants throughout the building control process to achieve compliance and high-quality outcomes.
• Respond to enquiries within service standards and deliver excellent customer service.
