Job summary

The successful candidate will evaluate plans and calculations for complex projects, including high-rise developments, and provide technical recommendations within statutory deadlines.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in structural engineering, Building Control, civil engineering, or a related construction field.
• Proven ability to assess complex structural engineering proposals and building regulation submissions.
• Experience in reviewing structural calculations, engineering reports, and technical design documents.
• Background in large-scale, complex, or high-rise development projects.

Responsibilities

• Offer expert structural engineering advice on Building Control applications, construction projects, and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate plans, specifications, structural calculations, engineering reports, and supporting documents for building regulation submissions.
• Analyze complex and high-risk projects, including major residential, commercial, and high-rise developments.
• Ensure that building designs and construction methods meet Building Regulations, British Standards, Eurocodes, and other relevant legislation.
• Provide recommendations for the approval, rejection, or modification of structural engineering proposals.
• Prepare schedules of conditions and technical recommendations within statutory deadlines.
• Lead structural assessments for dangerous structures and emergency situations.
