Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking an Accountant to join a busy finance team on a 6-12 month fixed-term contract in Derry/Londonderry. You will support financial close processes, journal entries, VAT compliance, and statutory reporting within a global environment.

The role requires an accounting degree and progress toward ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. You will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to process improvement and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Progress towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items.
• Prepare and support UK and Irish VAT compliance activities.
• Assist with statutory reporting and year-end financial statement preparation.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, analysis, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
