Job summary

Manpower is seeking an Accountant to join the finance team in Derry/Londonderry on a 6-12 month fixed-term contract. The role reports to the Finance Manager and supports the EMEA Controllership with financial reporting, compliance, and accounting operations.

You will contribute to month-end close, statutory reporting, VAT activities for UK and Ireland, and continuous process improvement. This is an excellent chance to gain experience in a global finance environment within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Progress towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items.
• Prepare and support UK and Irish VAT compliance activities.
• Assist with statutory reporting and year-end financial statement preparation.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, analysis, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
