Job summary

Hewett Recruitment is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for a challenging manufacturing environment. The role focuses on cost reduction, value engineering and product improvement initiatives, with cross-functional collaboration to influence key decisions and deliver measurable business results.

You will identify opportunities, drive projects, and work with Production, Procurement, Technical and Commercial teams to improve product performance and long-term competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as CI Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence.
• Proven track record delivering cost, quality or performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement, value engineering and cost reduction projects.
• Identify opportunities for product improvement, standardisation and simplification.
• Improve manufacturability, product performance and product margins.
• Work with suppliers, procurement and technical teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support design changes, validation activities and engineering improvements.
• Manage engineering projects from concept through to implementation.
• Monitor and report savings, business benefits and project performance.

We're looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to take ownership of cost reduction, value engineering and product improvement initiatives within a growing manufacturing environment. You'll play a pivotal role in identifying improvement opportunities, driving projects forward and collaborating with Production, Procurement, Technical and Commercial teams to deliver real business results.

Key Responsibilities of a CI Engineer

• Lead continuous improvement, value engineering and cost reduction projects.

About You

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in a Continuous Improvement Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Value Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence and process improvement methodologies.
• Proven track record of delivering measurable cost, quality or performance improvements.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
