Job summary

Falck on Teesside is seeking personnel to coordinate emergency response, including Hazmat activities, and to document audit trails of actions. You will interface with internal/external customers and emergency services, ensuring effective communications and control room readiness.

The role involves liaising with the Falck UK ECC, supporting exercises as a communicator, and maintaining equipment availability with prompt fault analysis and remediation.

Qualifications

• Must be competent with Microsoft Office and possess good numeracy and literacy.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• To be accountable for co-ordinating emergency response, including Hazmat activities on all Teesside Sites


• Document an audit trail of day-to-day and emergency actions


• To interface directly with internal and external customers


• Effective communications via telephone and electronic systems


• To interface with external emergency services, regulatory authorities and local community


• Effective use of internal and external systems (such as alarm and CCTV Systems)


• To liaise directly with the Falck UK Emergency Control Centre


• Provide a link from the incident scene to ECC


• Supporting ECC in exercises as a communicator


• To have an in-depth knowledge of Control Room equipment and procedures


• Fully competent in all Control Room systems and procedures


• Ensure equipment is available at all times


• Analyse/report faults and carry out appropriate remedial actions

Essential

Skills/ Qualifications:

• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office IT packages


• Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE Grade C or equivalent or above)


• Excellent level of communication skills


• Good IT skills


• Good time manager with tenacity and ability to work under pressure.

Remuneration & Benefits

• As a casual worker, you will be paid in arrears for work carried out in the previous month.


• Deployment Payments Include: Deployment for 12hr shift - £170.16, Deployment for 2.3hr shift - £117.69, Training & Familiarisation - £117.69


• Deployment on one of the 8 public holidays will be paid at double time for the deployment payment.


• The hours of work will vary, and you will be informed of the hours required when offered work.


• You may be offered work including day shifts, nights, weekends, bank or public holidays in line with the needs of the company or its clients.


• Holiday entitlements will depend on the number of hours that you actually work and will be accrued on the basis of 12.07% of your earnings year to date and will be pro-rated on the basis of a full-time worker's entitlement, up to a maximum of 5.6 weeks' holiday during each holiday year (inclusive of bank holidays).


• If eligible, the organisation will auto-enrol you into the company’s pension scheme, in accordance with its pension’s auto-enrolment obligations after the first 3 months of employment. The company will contribute 3% of base salary on the basis that the employee contributes 5% of base salary.


• You will be enrolled on the company-nominated Group Life Assurance Scheme at the start of your employment, and you will be insured up to the sum of £10,000
