Qualifications

• Strong electrical or mechanical engineering background.
• Good all-round knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience working within a commercial office, high-rise, critical environment or similar.
• Good understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, pumps, motors and general building services.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Confident leading engineers and dealing with contractors.
• Good knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the building's M&E systems.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and respond to mechanical and electrical faults.
• Manage contractors and specialist subcontractors.
• Ensure all engineering activities are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete shift handovers and maintain accurate engineering records.
• Respond to plant failures and engineering emergencies.
• Support the building's PPM, compliance and statutory requirements.

The Role

Are you an Shift Engineer looking for your next challenge in one of London's most prestigious skyscrapers? We're looking for an Engineer to join a highly skilled facilities team within a landmark City of London building. You will be either electrically or mechanically biased and have a strong all-round understanding of building services. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the building, ensuring critical engineering systems are maintained and issues are dealt with quickly and professionally.
