Job summary

Cartmell Shepherd Limited is inviting applications for a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our team. The role offers hybrid working within one of the region’s leading law firms, with a focus on high-profile disputes and advisory work.

We anticipate a solicitor with a minimum of 4 years PQE but welcome capable applicants outside this range. The successful candidate will handle Court of Protection cases, claims under the Inheritance Act, Will and Trust disputes, and Executor/Trustee matters.

Qualifications

• Experience handling contentious probate matters including Court of Protection applications.
• Proven track record in claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
• Ability to manage a varied workload with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Handle contentious Court of Protection applications and related disputes.
• Advise on and pursue claims under the Inheritance Act 1975.
• Lead and supervise junior fee-earners within the Dispute Resolution team.
