Job summary

Gerrard White Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its established team in London. The role involves managing a varied caseload of contentious probate, inheritance and trust disputes, and delivering high-quality legal advice with strong client relationships.

You will handle matters from instruction to resolution with autonomy, supported by a capable legal secretary and admin team, and opportunities for flexible working including home-based options.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ post-qualification experience in contentious probate.
• Admission to the Roll of Solicitors with current, unrestricted practising certificate.
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• A commercially minded approach with understanding of billing, time recording and fee targets.
• An interest in business development and helping grow the department.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload from instruction through to resolution with autonomy.
• Provide high-quality advice on contentious probate, inheritance and trust disputes.
• Draft settlement agreements and manage related non-contentious probate matters.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client care.
• Collaborate with a dedicated legal secretary and administrative team.
