Job summary

CRA Consulting is partnering with a progressive regional law firm to appoint a Contentious Probate & Civil Litigation Solicitor in Barnsley. The role offers hybrid working and a salary of £35,000–£45,000, with 1–3 years’ PQE and exposure to a broad disputes caseload.

You will manage varied contentious probate and civil matters, advise clients from instruction through to resolution, and have opportunities to contribute to the growth of the team with experienced mentors.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' PQE in contentious probate or civil litigation.
• Experience in contentious probate or civil litigation.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of contentious probate and civil litigation matters.
• Advising clients on complex and sensitive disputes, providing clear and practical guidance.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and court documentation.
• Developing case strategies and progressing matters towards resolution.
• Negotiating settlements and advising on dispute resolution options.
• Maintaining accurate case records and meeting procedural and regulatory requirements.
