Job summary

CRA Consulting is partnering with a regional law firm to appoint a Contentious Probate & Civil Litigation Solicitor in Barnsley. You will manage contentious probate and civil disputes with guidance from senior solicitors, handling executors, trustees and beneficiaries through instructions to resolution.

You will expand your litigation experience, contribute to the firm’s contentious probate offering, and enjoy mentoring within a supportive disputes team.

Qualifications

• Solicitor with around 1-3 years' PQE in contentious probate or civil litigation.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage client relationships and work independently.
• Exposure to TOLATA matters would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Good understanding of litigation procedures and case management.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of contentious probate and civil litigation matters.
• Advise clients from instruction through to resolution.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and court documentation.
• Develop case strategies and progress matters towards resolution.
• Negotiating settlements and advising on appropriate dispute resolution options.
• Maintaining accurate case records and meeting regulatory requirements.
• Support the continued growth of the contentious probate team.
• Work alongside senior colleagues on higher-value matters.
