Job summary

eNL is recruiting a Contentious Construction Associate Solicitor for their Birmingham office. You will handle high-quality construction disputes for a diverse client base, including developers, contractors and funders, and advise on complex issues arising from major projects.

You will work on adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings, with strong drafting and analytical skills and the ability to manage your own caseload while supporting senior lawyers.

Qualifications

  • Solid contentious construction experience within a recognised construction team.
  • Experience of adjudication and/or construction litigation.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills.
  • The ability to manage a caseload effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
  • A commercial approach and genuine interest in developing your career within construction disputes.

Responsibilities

Contentious Construction Associate Solicitor | Birmingham | National Law Firm | Competitive Salary + Benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Contentious Construction Associate Solicitor to join the Birmingham office of a highly regarded national law firm.

This is a great opportunity for a construction lawyer looking to develop their career within a well-established and ambitious team, working on a varied caseload of high-quality construction disputes for an impressive client base.

The Role

You will advise a range of clients including developers, contractors, employers, funders and other stakeholders on a broad spectrum of contentious construction matters.

Your work will include:

  • Construction disputes arising from major development and infrastructure projects.
  • Adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings.
  • Contractual disputes and claims relating to delay, disruption, defects and payment.
  • Professional negligence claims involving construction professionals.
  • Contract interpretation and disputes arising from standard form and bespoke construction contracts.
  • Supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters while taking responsibility for your own caseload.
  • Developing strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives.
The Candidate

The successful candidate is likely to be a contentious construction solicitor with around 2-6 years' PQE, although applications from candidates outside this range will be considered where the experience is right.

You should have:

  • Solid contentious construction experience gained within a recognised construction team.
  • Experience of adjudication and/or construction litigation.
  • Strong technical drafting and analytical skills.
  • The ability to manage a caseload effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
  • A commercial approach and genuine interest in developing your career within construction disputes.
