Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a Content Designer to create clear, accessible, user‑centred content for critical public digital services. Hybrid working in London, 12-month contract, BPSS eligible, inside IR35, and rate of £477 per day.

You will work within a multidisciplinary agile team to shape content that helps users complete tasks confidently while meeting Government Digital Service standards.

Content Designer - GDS - BPSS

Location: London (Hybrid Working)

Duration: 12 Months

Rate: £477 per day

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

We're supporting a major public sector digital programme and are seeking an experienced Content Designer to help create clear, accessible and user-centred content for critical digital services.

Working within a multidisciplinary agile team, you'll play a key role in shaping content that helps users complete tasks confidently and efficiently, ensuring services meet both user needs and Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Content Designer on complex digital transformation programmes
• Strong GDS experience, including working to GDS service standards and assessment requirements
• Expertise in creating clear, concise and accessible content for digital services
• Experience conducting content audits, content reviews and content strategy activities
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence decision-making through evidence-based content design
• Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary teams
• BPSS clearance eligible (or currently held)

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within the NHS, Health, or wider Healthcare sector
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
• Experience designing content for high-volume citizen-facing services
• Familiarity with user research findings and translating insights into effective content solutions
