Harvey Nash Group is seeking an experienced Content Designer to join a high-profile public sector initiative in London on an initial 6-month contract. The role requires designing clear, accessible content across digital services in collaboration with researchers, service designers, PMs and developers.

You will design, test and iterate content, ensuring consistency with GOV.UK content principles and accessibility standards while working within Agile teams and engaging with stakeholders.

Content Designer - Public Sector

Location: London - Hybrid working
Contract: 6 months
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Working Pattern: 3 days per week onsite in Stratford (London), with remote working for the remainder
Day Rate: Negotiable, depending on experience

We are working with a high-profile public sector organisation who are looking for an experienced Content Designer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract.

You will play a key role in designing clear, accessible and user-focused content across digital services, working closely with multidisciplinary teams including user researchers, service designers, interaction designers, product managers and developers.

The Role

As a Content Designer, you will be responsible for creating, testing and iterating content that helps users understand and successfully navigate digital services.

You will:

• Design clear, concise and accessible content based on user needs.

• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary Agile teams.

• Use user research, analytics and evidence to inform content decisions.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates with strong experience in:

• Content design within complex digital services.

• Designing content based on evidence and user needs rather than organisational requirements alone.

• Working in Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.

• Applying accessibility and inclusive design principles.

• Using data, research and analytics to develop and improve content.

• Communicating complex information in a simple and accessible way.

• Working with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Iterating content based on user feedback and research findings.

Previous experience working within government or the wider public sector would be highly desirable, particularly within services following Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and GOV.UK content principles.

Contract Details

This is an initial 6-month contract, operating Inside IR35.

The role is based in London and will require candidates to work onsite 3 days per week, with the remaining days available for remote working.

The day rate is negotiable and will depend on experience and suitability for the role.
