Content Designer
Department: Design
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: London
Description
Hybrid: 2 days per week in our London Bridge office
At Uswitch, our goal is to be the UK’s favourite way to choose and manage home-life essentials - from broadband and mobiles to energy and insurance. As we continue to grow and expand our services, we are looking for talented individuals who share our passion for making a positive impact on people's lives. If you want to be part of a team that is transforming the way consumers navigate their household services, we would love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a brilliant content designer with an interest in technology that solves complex problems in simple ways. This role focuses on our app, account and Utrack by Uswitch service. Over the past year, we've added new features here to help our customers beyond switching. Everything from tracking energy costs to earning money by shifting electricity use.
Now, we're exploring ways to continue making our customers' lives simpler and homes smarter. You'll play a key part in reaching and helping these customers across every touchpoint – from their first interaction with a feature to ongoing engagement through notifications and email.
While you'll mainly collaborate with the app and account team, the central design team will be your base. Here, you’ll get the chance to share your expertise with and learn from designers of all skills and experiences.
What the team have been up to recently
- Overhauled the look, feel and experience of our account space
- Made it even easier for customers to access daily energy insights with new ways to connect their smart meter
- Introduced an energy switch tracker to help customers keep tabs on progress
- Launched monthly review emails, bringing key insights direct to customers’ inboxes
What you'll be doing:
Every day at Uswitch is different, but you can expect to:
- Design content that shapes the tone and experience of our app and account
- Collaborate with product and visual designers, analysts, engineers and product managers to define and solve problems
- Scope and suggest experiments to test and iterate content that meets product goals
- Map and define messaging with marketing and brand teams to join up customer journeys across channels
- Flex between defining content strategy, prototyping new ideas and creating compelling copy for product features, emails and push notifications
- Help level up and set a high bar for content quality across our products
What we're looking for
- Experience as a content designer or UX writer in a cross-functional product team
- Experience designing content for end-to-end journeys across audiences and channels, including product UI, emails and notifications
- A champion of clear, compelling and inclusive writing that inspires action and promotes product growth
- A proactive problem solver who’s comfortable managing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Expert communication skills and ability to explain your ideas and decisions at all levels – from your product team to senior stakeholders
- Confidence in contributing to and conducting user research to understand and improve your work
- Experience co-designing in collaborative tools, like Figma and Miro
Bonuses:
- Experience working on mobile apps
- Experience working in a complex, regulated industry
