Job summary

Girlguiding is seeking a content designer to join the communications and content team. You will collaborate with the digital department to create engaging, accessible, user-centred content for girls, volunteers and parents, helping nearly 300,000 members enjoy meaningful experiences online.

You will deliver a content audit of the main website, shape best practices, and design, iterate and test new content while developing and rolling out our digital content and blog strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in digital content design and governance across multiple platforms.
• Strong understanding of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design principles.
• Ability to design content for diverse audiences including girls, parents and volunteers.
• Familiarity with CMS systems and content workflows.
• Experience in testing content with users to iterate and improve experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead content audits of Girlguiding.org.uk and related digital channels.
• Design, iterate and test new content to improve clarity and usefulness.
• Develop and roll out digital content and blog strategy in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Work with internal teams to improve information architecture and user journeys.
• Support accessibility goals and ensure consistent, high-quality content across platforms.

Do you want to champion best practice in content design across our organisation?

Can you help us deliver life-changing experiences for girls and volunteers with engaging, accessible and user-centred digital content?

We’re looking for a content designer to join our communications and content team. Working closely with our digital department, you’ll help us grow and deliver useful, accessible content for our members, volunteers and parents to help nearly 300,000 girls have fun and adventure.

It’s an exciting time for the organisation as we improve our digital offer, refining user journeys and information architecture across platforms and work to deliver a consistent exceptional experience for audiences.

You’ll help deliver a content audit of our main website, giving you the chance to help shape best practice, as well as design, iterate and test out new content. You’ll also be developing and rolling out our digital content and blog strategy while bringing other internal stakeholders on board.

This role is perfect for an enthusiastic and pro-active person with experience in digital content design, who knows their way around a CMS, has a keen eye for detail and a passion for great user experiences.

Girlguiding operates a hybrid working arrangement where office based staff are required to attend the office on average two days a week, or 40% of working time across the year. Location allowance is payable to those who work in accordance with our hybrid working model.
