Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks a Contaminated Land / Geo-environmental Consultant to support site investigations and remediation projects. Based in the North of England (Leeds or Newcastle) with UK travel, the role offers career development, mentoring and a competitive package.

You will conduct fieldwork, soil logging, sampling and data review, and prepare technical reports while upholding safety standards and client collaboration.

Qualifications

• On-site experience of site investigations and related field works.
• Experience in Phase 1 contaminated land/geo-environmental desk studies.
• Knowledge of planning, designing and managing site investigations.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations in site investigations.
• Familiarity with the UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment.
• Report writing with concise data presentation.
• Data handling; GIS knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Site work including supervision and management of site investigations.
• Field work including soil logging, environmental sampling and ground gas monitoring.
• Data collation, review and interpretation.
• Support with site investigation design.
• Preparation of technical reports including desk studies and remediation studies.
