Salary:

£57,000 – 65,000, annual bonus, benefits

Overview:

The Consumer Insights Senior Scientist plays a key role in translating consumer insights into impactful product, packaging, and innovation strategies. This role integrates scientific expertise with creativity to shape consumer experiences, collaborating with R&D, marketing, and consumer insights teams to drive business growth and differentiation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sensory & Consumer Research: Design, execute, analyze, and translate sensory and consumer research into actionable insights for product and packaging innovation, applying advanced methodologies and storytelling skills.
2. Strategic Business Influence: Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate insights into product narratives, identify market opportunities, and develop claims strategies.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between research, brand strategy, and product development to ensure insights drive decisions.
4. Technology & Program Development: Lead research initiatives, conduct testing, and adapt to complex project scopes with analytical and creative thinking.
5. Capability Development & Leadership: Mentor junior staff and develop sensory training programs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years experience in consumer and market research, or 4+ with a Master’s.
• Expertise in research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Strong analytical, storytelling, and leadership skills.
• Experience with Design Thinking and consumer-centric innovation.
