Job summary

Xander Hendrix Healthcare in County Antrim is seeking a Consultant Radiologist (General Radiology) to join a progressive Diagnostic Imaging team. The post will support growing demand across cross-sectional imaging, plain film, and ultrasound with dual-site opportunities and cross-county collaboration.

The appointee will contribute to teaching and postgraduate training while delivering high-quality imaging services and participating in quality/governance activities.

Qualifications

• GMC Registration with full licence to practise by appointment time.
• Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology or eligible via CCT within 6 months (Portfolio Pathway/CESR or European rights).
• Minimum 12 months documented experience in cross-sectional imaging (CT/MRI).
• Comprehensive knowledge of general diagnostic radiology, radiation protection, and governance standards.
• Proven ability to communicate with multi-disciplinary teams, referrers, radiographers, and staff.
• Evidence of undergraduate/postgraduate teaching, audit, and team management.
• Full driving licence for UK use or approved alternative transport.
• Eligibility to live/work in the United Kingdom by start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide general diagnostic reporting across plain film, CT/MRI and ultrasound.
• Participate in clinico-radiological conferences and MDT meetings.
• Vetting of requests and clinical discussions with hospital specialists and GPs.
• On-call rota as a first-tier consultant (approx. 1:18) with day-time ROD model.
• Oversee overnight CT reporting with outsourced teleradiology and provide guidance.
