Job summary

Xander Hendrix Healthcare in County Londonderry invites applications for a Consultant Radiologist with a Special Interest in Breast Radiology. The post is permanent and full-time (10.5 PA) with pro-rata remuneration of £110,681 to £145,517 per annum.

The role leads the regional symptomatic breast service and screening programme, working within a multidisciplinary team with advanced imaging, biopsies, and MRI/CESM capabilities, and includes on-call duties and teaching responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Fully GMC registered with a current Licence to Practise.
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology or eligible within 6 months of interview.
• Breast imaging specialty competence to function within a Breast MDT.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in symptomatic breast clinics and MDT meetings.
• Perform and interpret breast ultrasound, stereotactic/tomosynthesis biopsies and vacuum-assisted procedures.
• Deliver diagnostic reporting for breast MRI and CESM; contribute to MRI-guided biopsies.
• Support general radiology workload including CT, MRI, ultrasound and plain film.
• Take part in Radiologist of the Day duties and on-call rota.
• Mentor radiology trainees and supervise junior staff.
• Engage in clinical governance, audits and clinical trials.
