Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of specialist mental health and learning disability services in Leeds and York. We also deliver specialist services across the Yorkshire and Humber region and nationally.

About the role

We are seeking to recruit Consultant Psychiatrists to work in newly transformed Integrated Community Mental Health Teams (ICMHTs) across Leeds. The role is focused on community‑based care for adults with severe mental illness and complex needs. Post holders have no inpatient responsibility.

Key responsibilities
  • Regular clinical reviews, hub meetings, core team meetings and daily huddles.
  • Advise and guide primary care and referral pathways, including CPA framework and Approved Clinician status.
  • Act as Responsible Clinician for services under the MHA 1983, including complex prescribing and review.
  • Collaborate with local mental health providers, local authority professionals and statutory organisations for safe care and risk management.
  • Lead multidisciplinary community teams, provide protected clinical supervision to trainees and SAS doctors, and contribute to clinical leadership structures.
  • Work intensively and assertively with the client group and be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary community team.
  • Engage with other services within the Trust and other Trusts in the integrated care system.
Qualifications
  • MBChB and MRCPsych; CCT or CESR in general adult psychiatry.
Experience and Skills
  • Evidence of ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of previous leadership experience and/or motivation in developing medical leadership.
