Base pay range

Consultant Psychiatrist – Female Acute Inpatient | 30 Hours | Bristol

Location: North Bristol area – easily accessible from M32/M4

Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (30 hours/week)

Setting: Private Mental Health Hospital – NHS Referrals

Key Health are supporting an established independent mental health provider in Bristol to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist for a female acute inpatient service. This is a rare opportunity to take a clinical leadership role in a modern, well-resourced hospital that delivers high-quality care to patients referred through NHS pathways.

You’ll be supported by a strong Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including a Specialty Doctor, and work within a progressive and stable environment that prioritises collaboration, patient-centred care, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead psychiatric care for a female acute inpatient ward
• Conduct assessments, manage treatment plans, and oversee risk reviews
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision for junior medical staff
• Contribute to governance, service development, and team-wide learning
• Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS referrers

Requirements:

• GMC-registered with licence to practise
• CCT in General Adult Psychiatry
• Section 12 and Approved Clinician (AC) status
• Experience working at Consultant level, ideally within NHS or independent mental health settings
• Skilled in managing acute mental health presentations and working within MDTs
