We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.
Our client currently provides general hospital services to a population of approximately 500,000 and some tertiary referral, specialist services to a population of 1.2 million. They offer flexible job plans and support for developing specialist interests such as research, education, and teaching. The trust is working towards establishing university hospital status soon. Their achievements include meeting the A&E 4-hour target, consolidating stroke services onto one site, maintaining elective performance through remote consultations, and delivering the 62-day standard for all cancer groups for 24 months in a row.
The successful appointee will join a department of 6 substantive and 3 locum consultants, support service development, participate in departmental audits, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical governance, and provide high-standard patient care. Collaboration with medical, professional, and managerial colleagues is expected to ensure high-quality healthcare and contribute to the trust's strategic direction.
The location offers access to big cities, attractive towns and villages, excellent transport links to Birmingham and London, and two international airports.
